Like a lot of my friends this year, I won’t be able to celebrate my 40th birthday the way I had thought I would.
2020 has definitely been a hard year for most of us but we’ve been so fortunate to have a roof over our heads and a fridge full of food, unlike some people in Winnipeg.
My cousin Adam who passed away this year, had struggled with addiction and organizations like Siloam Mission help those affected to regain the meaningful and fulfilling life that all deserve.
I’ve decided to mark my special birthday in a different way and in lieu of any gifts, please consider making a donation in Adam’s honour to help provide opportunities for change to those affected by addiction, poverty and homelessness.
Any amount can help during this hard time when organizations don’t have the same ability to fundraise through events.
At the end of the day, it’s not what you have or what you’ve accomplished… its about who you’ve helped and how you’ve made this world a better place.
